STYLIST'S NOTES

THE LOOK

"For Eliza, I styled the dad jean with crushed velvet for an androgynous look with a touch of femininity.

For Emma, I went a size down on the baggy jeans, so it sits right on the hip, and paired it with a cropped jumper to reveal a hint of skin."

THE FIT

Baggy jeans are slouchy and sit on the hip. Dad jeans sit high on the hip and have a straight leg.

ELIZA'S JEANS

EMMA'S JEANS

THE FILMS

THE MOM. THE SKINNY. THE BOYFRIEND. COLOURED JEANS. BELOW THE KNEE. SUMMER JEANS. A DENIM DISCUSSION OVER SIX EPISODES.

CKUNFILTERED JEANS

CKunfiltered Jeans is a six-part mini-series featuring fashion stylist Nell Kalonji. In each episode, Nell answers the most-asked denim questions on fit, wash, colour and style. This episode is all about boyfriend jeans. What are boyfriend jeans and how do you wear them? We look at two styles— baggy jeans, which are slouchy, and sit low on the waist. And dad jeans, which are also slouchy but have a straight leg and sit higher on the waist. Nell shows different ways to style women's boyfriend jeans, from an androgynous look to a midriff look.
